The culture of working together as team members has a significant impact on the overall performance of an entity. Companies that encourage teamwork experience a positive work environment because employees have adequate time to interact with each other, making them comfortable performing their duties and learning other useful skills from their colleagues.

Most organizations have benefited significantly from the culture of collaboration. For example, Toyota depends on teamwork to facilitate its productivity. A collaborative environment allows employees to participate freely and engage in activities that advance their job development, making them more productive (Alshwayat et al., 2021). When there is coordination among the departments, cooperation becomes successful. However, sometimes a company may tend to initiate the culture, but it fails to impact the organization’s performance.

Despite the importance of a collaboration culture in an institution, some conspicuous drawbacks are associated with it. For example, when workers are working together, some may take advantage and joyride the situation leaving others to perform the duty. In summary, to cultivate a strong culture of collaboration, an organization must research and defines the roles each group will play in the system to enhance its viability.
